Mme Simone Fauret (née Lacroix) was a tune collector who ran the "Café de Tilleul," a dancing café in Issoire, in the Auvergne region of central France. Although she didn't play any instruments, she was a singer with an extensive tune repertoire, and Jean-Claude Rieu's collectages of her delightful vocalizations of local fiddle tunes and songs served as our primary sources for this EP. Some of these tunes we knew already, some we knew in slightly different forms, and some were fun new additions to our own repertoire.
We hope you enjoy this collection of tunes from the repertoire of Mme Fauret!
